Biography

Dr. Rahul Dilip Chavan is a classical virologist from Haffkine Institute for Training, Research & Testing, Mumbai. He was a part of the Influenza Diagnostic Team during the Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 Influenza outbreak. He has worked on Differential Proteomics in Influenza virus to identify new host markers in patients with Acute Respiratory Infections. For his Post-Doctoral training, he worked on various aspects of mosquito borne diseases. Currently at CSBMM, he is involved in identification of biomarkers and novel therapeutic targets in various infectious diseases. He is also working on various ayurvedic drugs in infection models by phospho-proteomics and metabolomics.
